Tuned Yellow TECHART Porsche Boxster Widebody 2004

The roadster flexes its muscles: The TechArt Widebody based on the Porsche Boxster S doesn’t only offer spectacular design but also extra driving fun and agility.

After the huge success of the Widebody concept for the 911 Carrera of the 996 model range, TechArt Automobildesign (Röntgenstrasse 47, D-71229 Leonberg-Höfingen, Germany, Tel: 07152/9339-0, Fax: 07152/9339-33, Internet: http://www.techart.de) decided to develop a wide body version for the Porsche Boxster S.

With the put-on fender flarings on front and rear axle the TechArt Widebody is eight centimeters wide than the standard car. The front extensions don’t only supply extra space inside the wheel houses but also improve the deventilation of the heated up air with their integrated wheel-house ventilation. The rear flarings are equipped with largely dimensioned air ducts to bring fresh air to the centrally placed engine.

Apart from spectacular, sporty design the TechArt designers of course paid attention to optimal aerodynamic efficiency. The TechArt front spoiler bumper reduces the lift at the front axle and improves the cooling of the front brakes with large air ducts. The TechArt rear spoiler is pressing the rear wheels stronger on the road at high speeds.

Extremely broad wheels and tyres make the TechArt Widebody concept for the Boxster complete: Specially for this wide body version there were developed new versions of the three-piece TechArt Champion five spoke wheel. At the front axle there is used the dimension 8.5Jx18, at the rear axle there is space for 11Jx18 wheels after fitting the fender flarings.

After extensive test drives, TechArt Automobildesign recommends the high performance tyre ContiSportContact of the sizes 225/40 ZR 18 and 285/30 ZR 18 for the Widebody based on the Porsche Boxster S. Specially set-up for these ultra-wide tyres and the wider track of the car is the height-adjustable TechArt sports suspension, which doesn’t only allow an individual damping of the roadster but also lowers it by 20 - 35 millimeters.

The TechArt Widebody conversion is available from 36 950 DM including fitting and painting.

Tuned Black Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo 2009

Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 by Reiter Engineering

While we are still high from the fumes of the fabulous Reiter Engineering Murcielago R-GT, the firm has intoxicated our vision with yet another outrageous street machine - the GT3.

Having started life as a race car there were a few boring necesities that made it road legal but what we want to focus on is the new carbon fibre bodywork with fenders widened by 60mm and that front fascia, the side skirts which also aesthetically add to the whole flair of the design and the large carbon fiber rear wing.

The large single exhaust pipe enhances the performance and reduces the weight of the car. There`s new Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres to help it stick to the road better and a splash of leather for the interior.

OTHER INFO:
Prepared by Sumo Power for EA Games, `Project GTR` was built to replicate the `Hero Car` from EA`s new game released in November 2005 `Need For Speed - Most Wanted`.

Usually, Sumo Power cars are built with serious performance upgrades, this project was built slightly different from the norm with the emphasis being on the overall finished appearance of the vehicle rather than power (Although 340bhp is still quite a handfull in rear wheel drive!)

The car was given away live on the MTV (Music Television) show TRL on 25th November 2005, the day that the game was released to the public, a young lady from the UK was the lucky winner and new owner of Project GTR, what a start to a new year!
